Living it up like the rich and famous in this five-star hotel while rubbing shoulders with the Taj Mahal on the 18th and 19th October 2014. There was just so much to take in during the space of one day and night. Seeing the Taj before and during sunset was our primary aim for the end of the day.
Janice in New Delhi booked our room at their sister hotel for the night. The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra was everything the postcard said it would be, and more! We were in for an opulent, fantasy filled, breathtakingly beautiful and ultimately romantic time in our lives. My visual senses were full to the brim with the depth of decay and smell and the vast contrast of life here in Agra. So much beauty all around with so much decay as well.
The soothing sound of water spraying out from fountains with Elephant statues standing proudly at its entrance welcome you to this opulent hotel with its breathtaking beauty. It is on the Taj East Gate Road, only a few meters from the famous Taj Mahal.
It is a place where you’re able to leave the dilapidated buildings in the center of Agra behind you while you step inside its fantasy land for a purely romantic time.

The hotel had organized our Taj Mahal tickets for us as well as a guide for half a day who would take us around. The hotels buggy took us down the road to the Taj Mahal.
We returned to the hotel about an hour after sunset.
The hotel lit up at night.
Our dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was first class, decadent, elegant dining.
Our breakfast consisted of whole wheat croissants and a wide selection of other foods on offer.
Walking down the outside steps to the swimming pool.
Opposite the entrance to the hotel you can find plenty of places to sit, relax and take in the architectural beauty of this hotel. Peace, beauty, and tranquility, fills your soul.
In the picture below, the building on the left is where you enter into the hotel’s foyer, and the building on the right has the hotels driveway and entrance on the other side of it.
